Dr. Kimberley Barth, DVM
Dr. Barth is a University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine graduate with 15 years of clinical practice experience. Dr. Barth has been with ECVETS since its opening in November of 2005.Prior to ECVETS, she practiced emergency and critical care at a 24 hours veterinary referral and emergency hospital in Hickory, NC. In addition to emergency medicine, her professional interests include shelter medicine and surgery. Dr. Barth is a board member of the Franklin County Humane Society, where she is involved in reducing pet overpopulation in our community and increasing the Humane Society’s ability to find homes for healthy pets.
In her personal life she enjoys sailing with friends, cooking with friends, yoga, and riding a Harley Davidson Fat Boy with her husband, Chuck.
Dr. Michele Ewing, DVM
Dr. Ewing received her undergraduate degree from The University of Pennsylvania and her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University. She has over 13 years of clinical experience with almost all of it in emergency and critical care environment. Dr. Ewing joined ECVETS over 6 years ago shortly after we opened. Prior to joining ECVETS she practice emergency and critical care at other emergency hospitals in Hickory and Wilmington.
Dr. Jennifer Hummel, DVM
Dr. Hummel is a Wilson, NC native. She recieved her undergraduate degree from East Carolina University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University. She has over seven years of experience practicing veterinary medicine and has been working part-time at ECVETS for over 5 years. In addition to working part-time at ECVETS, she works full-time at Rolesville Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Hummel truly loves all animals. She and her husband Brad have more than 60 animals including 6 dogs, 6 cats, a herd of birds, reptiles and other critters. Dr. Hummel is also the head veterinarian at Noah’s Landing a non-profit nature center in Coats, where she has been volunteering for more than 10 years.
